The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad (PFARS) 5K Run for Rescue will occur on Sunday, October 6, 2024, and will help to raise funds to continue their mission to save lives, relieve the suffering of the sick and injured, and promote safety. This exciting community-focused event takes place inside the beautiful TPC Jasna Polana during one of its most picturesque times when the foliage begins to change. The race offers memorable finish line pictures with your friends and family as you finish just in front of the clubhouse. The Run for Rescue 5K is both competitive and walker friendly. Arm In Arm - Are you experiencing food insecurity? Arm in Arm's mobile food pantry will be at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch on Monday afternoons from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in 2024. Want to play platform tennis? Princeton Recreation Department's Registration is now open under "2024/2025 Platform Tennis" Full Membership permits members to participate in league play. There are both Men's & Women's leagues available. There are 2 divisions in the evening men's league (Tuesday - Intermediate & Thursday - Advanced). Men's League play begins in early November. Women's Platform Tennis League takes place on Wednesday mornings and is a round-robin format. The Princeton Singers presents works of Australian, European, South African, and music of the Americas, exploring the influences of Indigenous music on classically trained composers. 10/24 - 7th Annual Beyond Pink Art Show, 5-9:30pm. YWCA Princeton's Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) will host its seventh-annnual Beyond Pink Art Show on Thursday October 24th at Marketfair. The event serves as a heartfelt tribute to local women who are living with, through, and beyond breast cancer, showcasing their resilience and strength through art, most of which is created by women participating in the BCRC's Healing Arts Program. 10/26 - Origins of Halloween Night Hike, The Watershed, 6-9:30pm., Join us on a journey through the woods on a crisp autumn night led by a trail guide. Along the way you stop to meet the characters in an Irish Folktale that unfolds along the path. Guided hikes begin every 15 minutes; last hike begins at 8:30 p.m. Space is limited; register early to get your preferred time slot. While other Halloween programs are designed to frighten, this is designed to educate and enchant. Ages 5 to adult. Adult attendance and preregistration required.
