Experience Doylestown PA’s Hometown Festival
On Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, downtown Doylestown transforms into an immersive art and music venue. Designed to illuminate the region’s ongoing commitment to arts and culture, the Doylestown Arts Festival features 150+ juried artists, live music on 5 stages, live art and interactive demos. The festival is free to attend. On Sunday, the Bucks County Classic joins in with high speed pro-bike races surrounding town. The Doylestown Arts Festival is organized by Discover Doylestown and made possible by The Thompson Organization.

Call for Entries - Photographers who live, work, or study in Mercer County, New Jersey, are invited to enter up to two photographs for consideration in the juried Mercer County Photography 2024 exhibition. The juror for 2024 is Gary D. Saretzky. Entry day is in person Saturday, October 5, from 9:30 am to noon at Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie, located in Trenton's Cadwalader Park. The exhibition prospectus, which includes entry forms, is available to download from ellarslie.org/mercer-county-photography-2024/. Entry fee is $10 per item, payable by cash or check. 

Join Voices Chorale now by setting up a brief, stress-free audition. All voice parts are welcome, especially tenors and basses! Auditions will be held beginning Monday, September 9th, and will continue throughout the month of September, before and after rehearsals. We rehearse weekly on Mondays 7:30pm-9:30pm at Music Together, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Road in Hopewell, NJ. Womanspace is Recruiting Volunteers to Join the Response Teams of Mercer County – Womanspace, Inc. is seeking community members to train as volunteers for the Response Teams of Mercer County. These teams consist of highly trained and dedicated volunteers who meet with victim-survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence during their moments of crisis. The commitment and expertise of these advocates are essential in providing victim-survivors with the support and resources they critically need. Applications are now being accepted, with the deadline to apply on September 24, 2024. Training begins on October 10, 2024.

Sharim v'Sharotis looking for singers to complement our signature sound and be a part of our choir. Auditions for the 2024-2025 season will be held by appointment through September 30,2024. The Friends and Foundation of Princeton Public Library Annual Book Sale Sept. 20-22. One of the top used book sales in the region, this year’s sale includes thousands of books for all ages and across a wide variety of topics. Most books are priced between $2 and $3, with art books and special selections priced higher. On the last day of the sale (Sunday), everything will be sold at half price. The event opens with a Preview Sale on Friday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon. The first 40 tickets for the Preview Sale will be $25 per person, and the next tickets will be $5 per person. Numbered tickets will be available at the door starting at 8 a.m. Customers enter the sale in numerical order, and the number in the room will be limited to 40 customers throughout the Preview Sale. Barcode scanners will be permitted at the tables but collecting books to scan will not be allowed.

9/6 - Tavern Night, Old Barracks Museum, 7pm., The Old Barracks will be hosting Tavern Night, a celebration of 19th Century Colonial American History. Enjoy savory hors-d'oeuvres as well as an open beer and wine bar all while immersing yourself in an 18th century tavern. Share drinks, play games, and learn dance steps to the most popular songs with ladies and gentlemen from the period as well as modern guests. Tickets are available on our website for $75 each, $60 for Old Barracks Association members. Tickets will not be sold at the door. No one under 21 is permitted at Tavern Night. 9/7 – Annual Master Gardner Insect Fest, 11-2pm., Mercer County Executive Dan Benson and Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County announced the 2024 Annual Insect Festival at Mercer Educational Gardens, 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township. The festival will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, rain or shine. Admission is free and on-site parking is available. Through fun, hands-on activities, visitors will learn about the importance of insects in our lives and how they create the biological foundation for all terrestrial ecosystems.

9/7 - The Sourland Spectacular will be held September 7, 2024 on Sourland region roads. Participants may choose from four routes: a Family Ride on the Lawrence Hopewell Trail, 28 mile, 42 mile, or challenging "metric century" 63 mile ride with a 3,942' climb. All routes begin and end at the Watershed Institute. Ticket price includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, a beverage, dessert, rest stops, swag, and SAG services. 9/7 & 9/8 - Fiesta Latina, Mercer County Park, 12-7pm.
Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, the Board of County Commissioners, the Mercer County Division of Culture & Heritage (MCDC&H), and the Trenton Puerto Rican Community & Friends Organization (TPRCFO), are excited to announce Mercer's 2nd Annual Fiesta Latina. This celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month will run for two days and feature live music, craft vendors, children's activities, and more. On Saturday Sept. 7, Grammy Award nominee and musician Toño Rosario will take the stage along with the legendary salsa group Puerto Rican Power. On Sunday, Sept. 8, attendees can immerse themselves in the music stylings of cumbia, merengue, mariachi, and more. Headlining this dance-worthy day will be three-time Grammy award winning salsa and latin jazz composer and performer Jeremy Bosch, accompanied by Jose Tabares' All Star Band.Tickets can be purchased below or at the door day-of. 9/8 - Concert: The Rebound, Hinds Plaza, 4-5:15pm
The band performs covers of classic rock songs from from a wide range of bands and eras at this concert on Hinds Plaza, the last of this summer's Listen Local Series. The Rebound is a Princeton-based band formed by a group of close friends with a shared passion for music. We play an eclectic mix of rock songs, from The Beatles and beyond, spanning the '60s to the modern era. Band Members include Bob Belloff (lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Wax (lead guitar, vocals), Laura Manfredi (bass, vocals), and Eric Heller( drums).

9/9 - New Member Welcome Night, Central Jersey Choral Society, 7pm. The Central Jersey Choral Society (CJCS) invites singers of all ability levels that are seeking a creative and joyful outlet to join its community chorus. The organization begins the season with a New Member Welcome Night on September 9th, 7:00pm at Ewing Presbyterian Church, 100 Scotch Rd, Ewing Township, NJ. 9/11 - Sustainable Minds: 15 Minute Neighborhoods, Princeton Public Library, 7pm. Planner Jon A. Carnegie and policy analyst Alex Ambrose discuss the concept of the 15-minute neighborhood and how it could make Princeton a more convenient and sustainable place to live. 15-minute neighborhoods provide residents with easy access to parks, schools, gathering places, social services, places to buy healthy fresh food and, in some cases, public transit, within a comfortable walk or bike ride. Attend this Sustainable Minds session to learn about 15-minute neighborhoods, case studies in New Jersey, and what planning and policy opportunities are available to make Princeton a 15-minute neighborhood.

9/15 - Festival Cultural Latino: A Community Mercado, Hinds Plaza and Palmer Square, 1-5pm., The rich cultural life of Princeton's Latino community is celebrated with an afternoon of music, dance, food and crafts on both Hinds Plaza and Palmer Square. Part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Hinds Plaza will be transformed into a traditional marketplace with a variety of artisans and vendors displaying their wares. A DJ will provide a soundtrack highlighting the music of Latin America and pop up performances by musicians and dancers will occur throughout the afternoon. Palmer Square will host music and dance performances on their stage all afternoon and local non-profits will provide activities and crafts for kids. Confirmed performers include Mariachi Los Tigres de Princeton, Alborada Dance Company, Sonqo, and Princeton Capoeira.

9/20 - Let's Dance! Organ Music for Hearts and Feet and Voices, Princeton Theological Seminary, 7pm. The Joe R. Engle Organ Concert will feature a wide range of repertoire linked to dance, from the sarabande and jig to the tango and cancan. This is not a concert for the ears alone! All will be invited to join their hearts, voices, hands, and feet to the melodies and the rhythms of the music. The evening will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a brief service of evening prayer followed immediately by the organ concert, concluding with a reception. The concert is free and open to the public.

9/20 - Princeton Folk Music Society Concert - The Tannahill Weavers, 8pm. Get ready for an evening of high energy Scottish folk-rock as The Princeton Folk Music Society presents The Tannahill Weavers. The band features a unique combination of traditional melodies, driving rhythmic accompaniment, and rich three- part vocal harmonies that make their performances unforgettable. They are noted for being the first Scottish folk group to incorporate an instrument long thought to be too loud to play nicely with other traditional folk instruments: the highland pipes.

9/21 – Trenton River Days, 11-3pm., Join us for Trenton River Days, a free event that celebrates the history, culture, and recreational benefits of the Delaware River. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 21, local families and community members are invited to South Riverwalk Park near the Trenton Thunder Stadium to enjoy the festivities. Art All Day returns for its 13th year, offering thousands of visitors a dynamic window into Trenton's vibrant artistic community.
