Winter Coat Drive
The Princeton Police Department is hosting a Winter Coat Drive to benefit those in our community in need of something warm to wear during the cold winter months. We are looking for gently used or new winter coats, winter hats and gloves. All items will be donated to the Princeton Cornerstone Community Kitchen. This drive will conclude on Sunday December 17th.

Ten Crucial Days Bus Tours
In a period of just 10 days, from December 25, 1776 to January 3, 1777, Washington’s courageous soldiers won a series of battles in the quest for American independence. Now, you too can experience the trek that retraces the Crossing of the Delaware River, and the 10 days of military engagements at Trenton, Princeton, and surrounding areas throughout the crucial days. Tours will be offered on December 9th and December 29th, 2023 as well as January 6th, 2024 from 9 AM to 4 PM. The cost is $145 per person, which covers bus fare, box lunch, and donations to historical sites on the tour - including Washington Crossing Historic Park, The Washington Crossing Park Association in New Jersey, The Old Barracks Museum in Trenton, and Princeton Battlefield Society. Country Line Dancing @ Princeton Elks (354 Route 518 Skillman, NJ) on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Dancing is 7:00pm-10:30pm and a fee of $15.00 per person, our DJ " Keepin It Country" offers lessons for beginners throughout the evening. All are welcomed. 

Literacy New Jersey Mercer Programs Tutor Training Workshop p- Give the gift of literacy! Join us as a volunteer tutor and help adults improve their English literacy skills. Work one-to-one or in small groups to teach adults learning to speak, read, and write English. Prospective volunteers attend 12 hours of online tutor training (on Zoom, 2 hours 1x a week for six weeks). After training, volunteers are matched with a small group of adult students or one-to-one and work with their program lead to plan classes and locate resources. No teaching experience is necessary. The training will give you the skills and support to become an effective tutor.Training sessions in January 2024: Tuesdays, from 6:00pm - 8:00 pm on Jan. 16, 23, 30 & Feb 6, 13, & 20 OR Wednesdays, from 9:30am - 11:30 am on Jan 17, 24, 31 & Feb 7, 14 & 21. Princeton Public Library Seeks Submissions for 2024 Princeton Environmental Film Festival - Submissions are being accepted through Jan. 15 for the 2024 Princeton Environmental Film Festival (PEFF), a signature Princeton Public Library event featuring films and filmmaker presentations which explore sustainability and environmental issues. The festival will be held April 5-14, and films will be screened in person and also available to stream online. An entry form and additional information about PEFF is available at princetonlibrary.org/peff. There is no fee to submit a film for consideration.

The Historical Society of Princeton’s House Tour is central New Jersey’s premier history, architecture, and design event, drawing hundreds of visitors annually. Explore four of Princeton’s spectacular homes on-demand, November 27 through December 31. Our virtual format allows participants to explore multimedia content of unprecedented depth at their own pace. Delve into fabulous private art collections, discover the history of how neighborhoods developed, and traverse engaging spotlights on architecture and design. Tickets include full event access. 12/13 – Holiday Paper Quilling Workshop @Morven, 6-7:30pm., Learn the historic art of paper quilling at Morven! Inspired by the beautiful paper decorations adorning Morven’s Festival of Trees, join teaching artist and founder of Hummingbird Arts April Zay as she leads the class in creating unique festive designs and holiday cards. Your ticket includes access to the museum and the Festival of Trees from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Explore and gain inspiration for your paper quilling artwork prior to the class. The workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the museum's Stockton Education Center. No prior experience is required. All supplies will be provided. Participants get to take home their artwork and a paper quilling tool. Space is limited to 25 participants.
