The 7th Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve, presented by the Hopewell Valley Arts Council, is spectacular art and (not too) spooky drive-thru of Halloween fun from Wednesday, October 6 to Sunday, October 10 at Woolsey Park in Hopewell Township. Forty colossal pumpkins will be carved and electrified by many of the area's most talented artists and displayed in a twinkling drive-thru. The Princeton Environmental Film Festival, a signature Princeton Public Library event, returns to an online platform for a second installment this year. Opening Tuesday, Oct. 12, and running through Sunday, Oct. 24, the 15th annual festival features 34 films (20 short and 13 feature-length documentary films and one short narrative film.) 10/16 – Autumn Encampment & Market, Washington Crossing Historic Park PA, 12-4pm., Travel back in time and experience life in a Revolutionary War camp during Washington Crossing Historic Park’s (PA) annual Autumn Encampment & Market. During this event, colonial townspeople will gather in the historic village to sell their wares, soldiers will drill 18th-century military tactics, and the park’s fife and drum corps will perform throughout the day. Families will enjoy a wide array of activities including crafts, cooking demonstrations, and one-on-one interaction with colonial reenactors. 10/26 – Open Interview Tuesday, Hackensack Meridian Carrier Clinic, 4-7pm., HMCC will host a series of Open Interview Days throughout the autumn on its campus at 252 County Road 601 in Belle Mead. A wide variety of positions in patient care and support services roles are available, including residential counselors, mental health technicians, registered nurses, social workers and school staff. There is a $500 sign-on bonus for environmental and food services new hires. No appointment is necessary. Enter at the main driveway and follow the signs to the interview location. 10/31 – D&R Greenway’s Masquerade Parade @St. Michaels Farm Preserve, 12-5pm. This drive-through holiday festival is designed for daylight hours on Halloween afternoon from noon until 5:00 p.m. As with last year's Parade, visitors' cars will move past exciting stationary 'floats' on both sides of the Preserve's pastoral roadway. These nature 'floats' are being designed by local organizations to evoke their mission with the event theme: "Birds, Bats and Bugs... Oh, MY!" Visitors are also invited to decorate their cars to this theme. Costumes are welcome and attendees are encouraged to create eye-catching signs revealing their favorite bird, bat or bug, as well as a fun fact about their favorite creature.
