YWCA Princeton’s St. Nicholas Project Looking for Families to Spread CHEER! Help local families in need create the magic of Christmas in their own homes. Any individual, organization, family, and business can participate. You can become “St. Nicholas" and choose to sponsor a large family, a small family, or an individual. Toys, clothes, gift cards and food are greatly needed and appreciated. Contact Jill Jachera at jill.jachera@gmail.com by November 17th with your current contact information (name, email address, and phone number) and you will be provided with a "wish list" for a particular family and/or individual. Gifts should be new and unwrapped and must be dropped off on Tuesday, December 12th, between 8 a.m. and 12 noon at the YWCA Princeton’s Bramwell House located at 59 Paul Robeson Place (at the corner of Rt. 206).

 

 

Capital Singers of Trenton is a 100-voice community choir that rehearses twice a month on Sunday evenings atSacred Heart Church, 343 South Broad Street, Trenton. We are currently welcoming singers of all voice parts, particularly tenors and basses, to join us in January. Call for Volunteers If you are interested in helping build bridges in our community, then we have an opportunity for you! Literacy New Jersey, Mercer County trains volunteers to meet with adults who need to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills so that they can become an integral part of our community. Many of our adult students come from other countries, so you will learn about new cultures and different points of view. We have a long waiting list of students who need our help. 15 hour, tutor training course starts on January 11, 10:00-1:00 and continues each Thursday through February 8. After completing the training you will be matched with a student who needs your help. Registration is required. Contact cmitch@literacynj.org or call 609-587-6027.
