PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Dear Sisters

ELECTION DAY is November 4, 2008.  What an exciting time to be alive to witness this presidential event of 2008.  I know everyone went, or will go out, to cast their vote regardless of party affiliation.  I for one, will be happy to get a break from the campaign jargon.  I don't think I could take another week of this seemingly endless journey.  Everyone needs a break

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

           *********************

I thank Illean for helping with our table at the Hightstown Fair on Oct. 11. It was indeed a beautiful day to be outdoors.

Please Note:  The location of our Nov. 11 meeting has been changed to the Youth Lounge of The First Presbyterian Church, 318 N. Main St., Hightstown.  The entrance and parking lot are located at the back of the church on Mechanic Street. The library notified me this week that they will be closed at 5 p.m. on the 11th.  I thank the Church for their generosity in allowing us to use the space on short notice.

Take care.

Joyce

TIPS for November, 2008

Brown Sugar - It won't harden if stored in the freezer.

Bananas - Run overripe bananas through a sieve or mash them, add a little lemon juice, and freeze.  Perfect for later use in cakes and breads.  Or freeze whole bananas that are on the verge of going bad.  They make delicious popsicles.

PLEASE KEEP THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS
 IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS:

Our continued best wishes are sent to the following:  Louise's uncle; Kevin and Regina; Illean's brother, Bill and  Lorna's mother.

Please keep our own Louise in your prayers.

We are glad that Ruth is feeling better

and is getting around a bit more each day.  Keep well.

It is our intention to remember all who are ill, lost a loved one, and congratulate members and their families when achievements are made. However, you must let Lois know so mention can be made in the Newsletter.
