PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Dear Sisters:

First, I wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day on May 14th. I hope your family treats you like a “Queen for the Day” and that the special treatment carries over for many months, as you deserve it.

Our June 4th “Woman of the Year” and scholarship fund-raiser at the Ramada Inn is fast approaching and we should wrap up most of the loose ends at our May 2nd Steering Committee Meeting. Invitations have been mailed out and responses should be coming in real soon. Remember, if you have friends or family you’d like to invite, if they are not already on the mailing list, please let me

know and I will send out an invitation or you can make copies from your invitation.

Our April meeting was very informative and I thank Ruth for contacting Ms. Komosinsky of Capital Health Systems who spoke to us about obesity and how we can maintain healthy eating habits.

I’d like to thank Liston and Marty for their tireless help whenever the Network needs their assistance.

Enjoy this wonderful spring weather.

Joyce

TIPS

Showerhead:
To remove mineral deposits, remove the head if possible and soak in warm vinegar, or fill a plastic sandwich bag with vinegar, then wrap it around the showerhead and tie tightly with a rubber band. Allow it to sit overnight. Use an old toothbrush to scrub it clean. Poke with a pin or toothpick to clean the holes.

CLOTHING COLLECTION
Clothing (in good condition and clean, for working women) are always needed by the Urban Women\'s Center, 1201 W. State St., Trenton. Contact: Dir., Doris Williams (609) 989-1925) and Dress for Success, (also known as Suitably Dressed), 640 S. Broad St., Trenton (contact Mary - 989-6639 - from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.; Mon - Fri). These organizations assist women who are returning to work after a lengthy absence, and do not have and do

not have the proper attire for work. They also need shoes and handbags. Thank you for your help in this matter. Your donations will be greatly appreciated.
If you have large donations, it would be best to contact these agencies and arrange for drop off and to find out if they have the space for large donations. They can use suits and other clothing for men, also.
