Dear Sisters:
Welcome to spring, my favorite season of
the year. We are all anxiously awaiting the blooming of pretty
flowers, warmer weather, more outdoor activities, and the
shedding of the heavy winter clothes.
We held Our Annual Open House on March 19.
It
was a successful event, thanks to everyone for working so
hard. Our guest speaker, Mayor Mildred Trotman of
Princeton, gave a very positive
speech, and we thank her for giving of her valuable time. I’m
sure the young ladies who received scholarships, along with
their children, can use her messages in their daily lives.
We can’t thank Lois enough for all the
contacts she made with the colleges that resulted in our
receiving many applications and ultimately awarding six
scholarships. Thanks to Louise for another terrific job
decorating with the theme “Red Hat Ladies”. We
thank Shirley for purchasing the food and setting it up
beautifully. Thanks also to Jessica, Linda and Hattie for
participating in the Program. We thank Ruth for her input
prior to the event, although she was unable to be present.
I send a wholehearted thanks to all

CJNBW members for a successful Open House. On March 18, we participated in the Health Fair, sponsored by
the Community Action Service Center, and held at Hightstown
High. I thank Hattie, Illean, and Shirley for covering our
table. On March 7, E. Windsor Mayor, Mironov, presented us with a Proclamation
for Women’s History Month. Joyce and Ruth accepted on behalf
of the network. Remember to invite your family
and friends to our April 11 meeting at Hickory Corner Road
Library. Our guest speaker from Capital Health System will be
discussing “Obesity-Conscious Eating: The Non-Diet Approach”,
starting at 8:00 p.m. We must now focus on our “Woman of the
Year” program scheduled for June 4 at the Ramada Inn, E.
Windsor. It may seem a long way off, but time moves along
swiftly, so we have to get busy. We’ve already started the
process and have received information from Joan, our selection
for this year. I look forward to seeing you soon. Joyce
