PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE:
My dear sisters:
This is Black History Month, so let us all continue to
celebrate our rich history and remember all who have paved
the way for us. On February 10, Illean will lead an
interesting presentation that requires us to volunteer to
read some accounts of former slaves' memories. Please
bring a friend to enjoy the evening with us. Linda will host
the gathering and I will ask our resident decorator, Louise,
to do her usual wonderful job.
Hattie and Joyce will revisit the Hightstown Ramada where
we plan to hold the "Woman of the Year" luncheon
on May 2. The prix fixe for entire meal will be
discussed at our Feb. 10 meeting.
We need to decide finally on a Woman of the Year.
We have a number of names, but no final choice. Please
let us have your nominations. We are planning to have 50 -75
guests on May 2.
Joyce will inform the Latina Women's Organization (via
Ondina) that we will take a table on March 20 for the annual
Health Fair at the Hightstown High School. We need
volunteers to sign up to man the table. Please let me know
at the regular monthly meeting on 2/10.
Always,
Noreen
Lois
