PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

My dear sisters of CJNBW:

We are still basking in the success of the first annual golf outing. At the Steering Committee meeting this week, we cleared up all outstanding financial accounts, and we have made a profit, not as much as we had hoped, but this was our first venture of this kind.  Now, we have developed some strategies for planning next year’s event, and the organizational structure is in place.  Once again thank you all who worked on this event, especially Jessica, Joyce, and Ruth.  Thanks also to all those who supported the team and worked on October 7th, Illean, Hattie, Shirley, and Louise for the beautiful decorations.

This month, we are hosting a presentation on Alzheimer’s at our monthly meeting on November 9th.  Ms. Eileen Doremus will address members and guests.  Joyce has corresponded with Ms. Doremus and we have distributed flyers announcing her presentation.  However,

we need participants to hear Ms. Doremus.  Please, make calls, come out and bring your friends and neighbors.  This is a very important and timely subject.  Linda will chair this meeting.  Anyone is invited.

Next month is our annual holiday party, hosted by Ruth on December 12th.  This year, as we did in the past, we are asking all party goers to bring wrapped gifts for Crisis Ministries.  Also, Illean has a contact who is collecting for Haitian Hurricane Relief.  We would like to donate new, unused bed-linens and towels to those who suffered the effects of two hurricanes in Haiti, this summer.  More to come on this later.

Once again, thanks to all those who continue to support our good work. See you at the meeting!

Best,

Noreen Lois

TIPS

Dishwasher:  To remove  brownish-orange stains, use a lemon or orange powdered breakfast drink.  It's the citric acid that works.  Put 1 or 2 tablespoons, but no detergent, in the

dishwasher cups.  Run the dishwasher through the wash cycle.  Repeat until all stains are removed.  It should look almost new.

CONDOLENCES TO:

Marcia, who recently lost her mother.  We send our sincere condolences to the family.

Hattie, who lost a family friend who was very dear to her.  Our condolences and prayers to both Marcia and Hattie.
