News06/13/2014: Welcome to Practical Spirituality
Thank you for visiting my Blog.
I believe that we are born spiritual. If we say God is spirit, and if He created us to his image, how we cannot be spiritual? Yet, so many people think that talking about energy, angels, rituals, etc. is just too out there. I was a really sensitive child and I sensed people’s misery, bitterness, pain and blocks they had in their lives. I also saw, heard and knew things that others did not. I knew these people were missing something from their lives, but they did not always see it.
Even as a child, I could help the people around me see things in a different way. The result was miraculous. Their lives started to shift, and they started to see connections they hadn’t seen before. With this, they got more prepared for the storms in life and started to listen to their intuition more. They started to focus more on the positive, seeing the link between the positive results they got in their lives and their way of thinking and living.
This gift and passion is still very much alive in me. Moreover, since I have accepted it as the mainstream of my Divine Career, I am even more inspired.
This passion is why I am here. My mission is to help women especially to balance their masculine and feminine energies, to consciously listen more to their intuition, to enjoy their sensuality without feeling guilty, and to create the holistic lifestyle they want and deserve.
What does holistic mean? There are several ways of defining it, but the one that makes sense to me is the fact that the whole object of a holographic picture can be reconstructed from a small part of the hologram. It is like “as above so below, as within so without” (Hermes Mercurius Trismegistus) – everything is connected.
In my blogs you will read about interesting and exciting ideas, and secrets about how to learn to see behind the scenes. You will learn about rituals, even recipes. I will share Feng Shui tips with you. Sounds eclectic? Well, as I told you, everything is connected, so the pieces of the puzzle will come together to show you a holographic picture of your life. Till next time.

I was given a prescription pain medication called Percocet 5/325 to be taken every 4-6 hours if needed for post operative pain. The post operative pain was more intense than I initially expected, and I took the pain medication for the first 4 days after surgery. This type of medication is from a class of medications called opioids. Another term that is used is “narcotic”, although opioid is now the preferred term. There are many other types of pain medications such as acetaminophen, NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen), however opioids are probably the most notorious. The term opioid is derived from the word “opium”. Historically, opioids have been the mainstay in the treatment of pain for hundreds of years. Our bodies have a naturally occurring form of pain relief using endorphins. Therefore opioids exert their effects by mimicking our body’s natural endorphins. This response of our body to opioids explains the pain relieving results. However the body’s natural system also can be influenced by the powerful rewarding and addicting properties of opioids. I do believe that pain medications such as Percocet have a therapeutic value in the management of pain, particularly post operative pain. However if you are a parent reading this blog post, or a teenager, I would hope that this post can help you understand a bit more of the reasons why caution should always be advised when dealing with these types of medications. Heroin, Oxycontin, morphine (Avinza), Roxicodone, oxycodone/acetaminophen (Percocet), hydrocodone/acetaminophen( Vicodin), hydromorphone(Dilaudid), fentanyl (Duragesic). These are all opioids. Heroin is illegal for many reasons, and everyone would agree that it is highly addictive. However, the others can also be highly addictive. In Europe, heroin is the most highly abused opioid. In North America, however, illegally diverted prescription opioids such as the ones I listed, are increasingly the primary illegal opioids. Among high school seniors in America, approximately 10% have used Vicodin non-medically. An estimated 63 million Americans have used a prescription opioid for nonmedical purposes in their lifetime. In 2003 studies showed that opioids were only second to marijuana as the most frequently abused illicit drugs among high school seniors. Nearly a third of teens believe that prescription pain killers are ‘not addictive’. More than half of teens don’t agree strongly that using cough medicines to get high is risky. http://www.goodmedicinebadbehavior.org/download/DEA-PillBook-2010.pdf There is a national epidemic in prescription drug abuse in our country. The effects of abuse are not limited to a ‘high’. The brain has a natural mechanism to respond to elevating levels of carbon dioxide by causing our bodies to breathe. Opioids can powerfully suppress this responsiveness which is a leading mechanism in opioid related deaths. Often times other sedating drugs are taken together and the combined effect is tragic. Prescription opioid addiction, even when not fatal, can destroy individuals and families. Diversion (illegal selling) of prescription pain medications is a billion dollar industry in America. Street value of some prescription pain killers can be $80 a pill. http://money.cnn.com/2011/06/01/news/economy/prescription_drug_abuse/index.htm What we can do:
