Bird Walk on the D&R Canal

As thousands of birds wing north in their annual migration, the volunteer support group for the Delaware and Raritan Canal, the D&R Canal Watch, will sponsor a walk 8 a.m. Sunday, May 8, to see and hear some of them.The free walk will be led by veteran birders and Canal Watch members Barbara and George Dawson. The walk will start at the historic Van Wickle House off Easton Avenue at the foot of DeMott Lane in Franklin Township (1289 Easton Ave., Somerset, for GPS location). No registration is necessary.
