AARP Safe Driver Course, Hopewell Valley Senior Services

Thursday, November 2nd, 9:00am to 4:00pm at Hopewell Township Municipal Building Auditorium, 201 Washington Crossing Pennington Road, Titusville. $15/person for AARP Members and $20 for non-members. Registration required by calling the Hopewell Valley YMCA at 737-3048.

The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom refresher course designed especially for drivers 50 and older. Participants learn defensive techniques, new traffic laws, and rules of the road. Through interacting with one another, they find out how to safely adjust their driving to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. Graduates receive a certificate of completion that entitles them to a reduction in their auto insurance premiums in NJ. Participants must attend the whole day to complete the course. AARP membership is not required.

Senior Care Services of NJ Benefit & Silent Auction

The Senior Care Services of NJ (SCS, formerly known as Senior Care Ministry of Princeton) will be celebrating 30-plus years of community service to the greater Princeton area with Gin & Jazz, a dinner and silent auction, on Thursday, November 2nd at 6pm, with a pre-party beginning at 5pm.

The music-filled event will take place at Trenton Country Club, 201 Sullivan Way, Ewing, NJ, and will celebrate four honorees: G. Alan Sullivan, Thomas A. Bracken, Laura & Joseph Sarubbi, and BHHS Fox & Roach Realtors (Princeton Office). This is the SCS’s third annual benefit dinner, and this year’s silent auction winnings will feature an African safari trip, tickets to shows from McCarter Theatre’s 2017-2018 season, a golf outing for four at Jasna Polana, and more. Proceeds from the evening will go toward supporting the work of the SCS.
