Sunday March 20, 2022
3:00 PM

Boheme Opera NJ (“Boheme”), one of the oldest opera companies in New Jersey, returns to the main stage at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial for Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto” on March 18 and 20.

The premiere show of Boheme’s 33rd-season, “Rigoletto” will fill the stage with memorable characters driven by passion, fear and the all-too-familiar lusts for personal power and pleasure at the expense of others. Bringing them to life will be an all-star cast of established and rising young stars, supported by the Boheme Opera NJ Orchestra and Men’s Chorus, conducted and directed by Boheme Opera Artistic Director Joseph Pucciatti. “Rigoletto” will be performed in Italian with English supertitles, preceded by pre-curtain talks in the theater one hour before start of performances, presented by Boheme Board President Jerrold Kalstein.

Proof of vaccination and masks will be required for entry, and socially distanced seating will be observed for the audience’s health and safety. Visit https://www.bohemeopera.org/rigoletto for more information and to purchase tickets.

Moon Over Buffalo, Magic Mountain Theatre

Share:

Sunday March 20, 2022
3:00 PM

In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me a Tenor, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf, old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.
