Birding Field Trip, Washington Crossing Audubon Society

The public is invited to join Washington Crossing Audubon Society from 8:15 to 11:15 AM on Sunday, February 23 for a free beginner's birding walk led by Mark Manning at Hamilton's Veteran's Park. If you have little to no experience and always wanted to begin birding, or if you are a backyard bird watcher who would like to take the next step, this program is for you! We will focus on identifying year-round and winter resident birds that are found within the park, with entry level information on natural history and identification by ear. Ages 12 and up are invited (under 16 should be accompanied by apparent). Meet at Hamilton Veteran's Park West entrance, 1778 Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road, Hamilton, NJ. Designer Bag Bingo Fundraiser, Pickering Manor

Pickering Manor will hold their annual Designer Bag Bingo on Sunday, February 23 at Saint Frances Cabrini Gym, 325 Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. Designer hand bags will include Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, and Tory Burch. Doors will open for preview at 1:00 pm and the first bingo game will be called at 2:00 pm. The event is BYOB and will feature 12 games of bingo, raffle prizes, and a 50/50. Refreshments include $1.00 Bertucci’s pizza slices, soft pretzels, and sodas can be purchased for an additional donation to Pickering Manor.

Enjoy a 90-minute walk around downtown Princeton and the University campus as you learn about historic sites in the area, including Bainbridge House, Nassau Hall, the University Chapel and Palmer Square. The early history of Princeton, the founding of the University and the American Revolution are just some of the stories from Princeton’s history that you will learn on your tour. Tickets are $7. Advance purchase is recommended, as space is limited. Tour starts OUTSIDE the Art@Bainbridge building. Walk up ticket sales are cash only; guides cannot provide change.

The author speaks at the paperback release of her acclaimed novel, a love story about a young couple living amidst the political upheaval of 1953 Tehran. When violence erupts on the eve of their marriage, a result of the coup d’etat that forever changes their country’s future, the couple is separated and it seems they will never see each other again. Born in Turkey to Iranian parents, Marjan Kamali studied English Literature at UC Berkeley and received her MBA from Columbia University and an MFA from New York University. Her debut novel was “Together Tea.”

The concert features the Westminster Community Orchestra conducted by Ruth Ochs as well as the Westminster Conservatory Children's Choirs conducted by Patricia Thel, Yvonne Macdonald, Chaequan Anderson, and John Paul Velez, winners of the Westminster Conservatory Concerto Competition, and students of the Westminster Choir College Opera Workshop, directed by Susan Shiplett Ashbaker and Nova Thomas.
