The art council hosts this event at the same time as its popular Off the Wall Affordable Art Sale, a juried show that attracts artists from all over New Jersey.

Early admission hours for West Windsor Arts Council members only: Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon

Annual Thanks4Giving Benefit Plunge for Special Olympics NJ

On Saturday, November 16, 2019, Thanks4Giving to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) will be held near Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ. This annual plunge has evolved into two great events, now incorporating a run along the boardwalk in the all new Turkey Dash 5K before plungers take the Turkey Splash in the crisp Atlantic Ocean.

Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. at the Grand Arcade in Asbury Park, the Dash 5K begins at 11:30 a.m. and plungers go into the water at 1:00 p.m. Onsite registration will be available, and following the Plunge, all are invited to The Wonder Bar for the Post-Plunge Bash – free for anyone who plunged and $10 for everyone else.

1pm - One World One Sky -J oin Sesame Street’s Big Bird, Elmo and their Chinese friend Hu Hu Zhu on a discovery of the sun, moon, and stars! 

2pm - Dark Universe - Unravel the complexities of the cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson as your guide! Plunge into Jupiter’s atmosphere and explore the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy in this spectacular show. 

3pm - CapCom Go! -The Apollo Story - An immersive, historical documentary that showcases the achievements of the Apollo program and what it took to put the first human on the Moon. It introduces a new generation to the immense challenges they overcame and will inspire them to become the explorers, designers, engineers, thinkers and dreamers of the future. Suitable for all ages. This show is a great way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, and a perfect complement to the exhibition “Many Inspired Steps” on view in the Riverside Gallery May 25 through November 10.

The ultimate story of sibling rivalry, betrayal, immense courage, and redemption comes to the stage of Kelsey Theatre at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) with the Yardley Players' production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat," Nov. 8-17.

This family-friendly musical, with music by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice, blends pop, country, and rock into an uplifting production filled with unforgettable songs. The show retells the biblical story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis, and recounts the jealousy of his 11 brothers, who fake Joseph's death and sell him into slavery. As a slave, Joseph rises though the ranks in the service of Egyptian tycoon Potiphar, and when others learn of his ability to interpret dreams, he catches the attention of Pharaoh.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and students and may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.org or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at (609) 570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible, with free parking next to the theater.

The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) announces tickets are still available for its annual fall fundraiser, Dining by Design. This year's event features a cocktail party with a silent auction, hors d'oeurves, and wine bar, followed by an intimate salon-style dinner and artist talk hosted in a private Princeton-area home. Funds raised by Dining by Design will assist the ACP in fulfilling its mission of Building Community Through the Arts by supporting community members in need, including at-risk youth and low-income seniors.

Proceeds also support the Arts Council Scholarship Fund, making inspiring arts experiences accessible to all, regardless of means. Saturday, November 16, 6-11pm. D&R Greenway, 1 Preservation Place, Princeton NJ and host homes in the Princeton area.
