Birding Field Trip, Washington Crossing Audubon Society

Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org) at 8 AM on Saturday, September 28, for a free, public birding trip led by Brad Merritt and Sharyn Magee at the Negri-Nepote Native Grasslands Preserve in Somerset County. This 164-acre preserve is home to a number of sensitive species, including the Grasshopper Sparrow, Cooper's Hawk, American Kestrel and Eastern Meadowlark. We will also have the opportunity to view Wood Ducks, Bluebirds and Purple Martins. For more info or in case of inclement weather, call Brad Merritt, 609-921-8964.

Directions: Take Rte. 514 East (Amwell Rd.) from Rte. 206 at Woods Tavern. From South Middlebush Rd., turn onto Skillmans Lane. The preserve entrance is on the West side, between the two 90-degree curves.

Trenton River Days Fair, South River Park, Trenton

Join us for a celebration of the Delaware River on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at South Riverwalk Park in Trenton, New Jersey. This free event includes food and educational activities for the whole family! Explore games and exhibits about the life of the Delaware River, and then enjoy a boat ride or paddle along its banks. Live music and entertainment will be provided by Son 7 and performers from the Trenton Circus Squad.

South Riverwalk Park is located by Trenton Thunder Stadium and is accessible by bicycle or pedestrian traffic. Parking is available at Waterfront Park next to the stadium. On Saturday, September 28th, Franklin Township Parks & Recreation will host the Township’s annual Franklin Day Festival (FDF) from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Colonial Park, Lot C in Somerset, NJ. Over 20,000 Franklin Township residents, local businesses, and artists and visitors from neighboring towns attended the festival last year!

This special event offers a day of fantastic family fun including an array of attractions along with the eclectic musical stylings of live bands on the main stage. There is something for everyone whether you’re a fan of Jazz, R&B, Pop, Rock or Gospel! The FDF cultural stage will also feature instrumentalists, dancers, and singers performing music from around the world.

Two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA wants to leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces!
