Sourland Spectacular

Sourland Spectacular: The event will offer challenging routes for serious cyclists, as well as shorter alternatives for more casual bikers. Routes of 5 to 63 miles will begin and end at the Otto Kaufman Community Center (356 Skillman Rd, Skillman, NJ 08558). Ticket price includes lunch and dessert. Register online and receive a free tubular bandana. Register before August 1 and save $5.

"The Brig" offers great viewing access to migrating shore birds, terns, raptors, waterfowl, herons, egrets and the occasional uncommon bird. For more information or in event of inclement weather, call Brad at (609) 921-8964. Directions: Take the Garden State Parkway South to exit 48, then Rte. 9 South for approximately 5 miles. Look for the Brigantine Forsythe NWR sign on the left, and turn left onto Great Creek Road. Meet in the parking area.

Native Plant Sale, Lambertville Goes Wild

Lambertville Goes Wild is sponsoring a native plant sale on Saturday, September 7, 10 am to 2 pm, at Cavallo Park, 2 Mount Hope Street, Lambertville. Wild Ridge Plants and Toadshade Wildflower Farm will be selling an array of perennials, shrubs, trees, and vines. Representatives from Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve and the Hunterdon County chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey will also be on hand for information and advice. Plus, Lambertville Goes Wild will be planting 35 shrubs in the park during the sale. The first 35 visitors to help plant will receive native plant seeds as a thank-you.

"Try It Out Day", Westminster Conservatory

Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Rider University's Westminster College of the Arts, will offer children and their parents who are looking for a place to take music lessons the opportunity for a free "test drive" at Try It Out Day on Saturday, September 7.

Offered at the Conservatory's main location on the Westminster Choir College campus in Princeton, Try It Out Day will feature Early Childhood demonstration classes for children between the ages of 14 months and 8 years. The free 20-minute trial lessons with Westminster Conservatory teachers offered in the afternoon will be for children between the ages of 6 through 18. Adults are also welcome to register for a trial lesson.

Advance registration is required. The deadline for registration is September 4, 2019.

After hearing Cline on the radio in 1957, housewife Louise Seger became an immediate, avid fan. A chance meeting at a concert brought them face to face. Over a pot of coffee, and through their subsequent letters, they forged a bond that would last until Cline’s tragic death in 1963. Always … Patsy Cline is a valentine to their friendship and a tribute to a great American music icon.
