Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic will host a ready-for-summer webinar entitled “Gardening as Therapy for the Body and Mind” at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, hosted by Laura DePrado, a registered horticultural therapist at Carrier Clinic and owner of Final Touch Plantscaping, LLC, in Branchburg, and Lori Jenssen, executive director of the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association, headquartered in Bordentown.

“The therapeutic value of gardening and connecting to plants for health and well-being is well known,” DePrado said. “This hands-on webinar will explore those benefits and show participants how they can make the best use of their plants and the bounty of the harvest.”

There will be lots of fun for the whole family on the front lawn of Montgomery High School on June 27th! Starting at 6 pm, there will be plenty of games and activities for children, food vendors.

Get there early to get a great picnic spot under the stars! Feel free to bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy the sounds of The John Oakes Band playing hits from today and yesterday at 7:00 pm up on the stage. After the singing of the Star Spangled Banner at dusk (approx. 9:15 pm), get ready for a spectacular display of patriotic fireworks, sure to bring out the kid in everyone! The event rain date is set for Friday, June 28th.

The event will be held at Montgomery High School, 1014 Rt. 601, Skillman.

Kick off the summer series with a special evening showcasing the golden age of concert band music featuring American patriotic music. The Blawenburg Band is one of the oldest community bands in the state, founded in 1890 in Blawenburg, NJ. The members of the Band range in age from their teens to their nineties, and include teachers and students, research scientists, lawyers, computer specialists, homemakers and active retirees. Some players have years of training and professional experience, others learned to play as children and are dedicated amateurs.

The 52nd season of the Princeton University Summer Chamber Concerts continues on Thursday, June 27th with PUBLIQuartet at the Richardson Auditorium on the Princeton University campus. The concert will be at 7:30 and include selections by John Corigliano and Princeton’s own Caroline Shaw and Shelley Washington. All the summer chamber concerts are free to the public.

Even though concerts are free, tickets are still required. Starting one week before each concert a block of tickets is available online through the university ticket office (tickets.princeton.edu). Once the online tickets are "sold out” the remaining tickets will be available, “first-come, first-served” at the box office on the day of the concert. There is a maximum of 4 tickets per party. Doors open for general seating one-half hour before the concert.
