Kid Connection will be hosting an open house for new families on Saturday February 23rd from 9 am to 12 pm. All are invited to meet and greet teachers, tour the building, and gather info about the exceptional academic offerings and the fun and nurturing learning environment of Kid Connection.

Kid Connection also offers a Kindergarten Enrichment program, which provides a full day Kindergarten experience for children enrolled in the public school. This registration, along with that for Before and After School programs for K-2, will be held in the Spring. The Mercer County Improvement Authority will host a document shredding event for County residents on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parking Lot 4 at 651 South Broad St., across from the County Administration Building in Trenton.

This event will be held rain or shine. While no registration is necessary, please note that the event is open to Mercer County residents only, and attendees will need to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license. Up to eight boxes or bags of paper may be discarded. No household chemicals, no commercial businesses.

Pittore Justice Center/ACME Screening Room, 25 South Union Street, Lambertville, New Jersey. How can you attract butterflies to your garden? Can you have a butterfly garden if you have shade? What other conditions do butterflies need to thrive? Learn the secrets to a successful butterfly garden! As a bonus, the same techniques will help birds, too.

Mary Anne Borge, naturalist, photographer, and author of the-natural-web.org, will lead the program. Mary Anne is the Associate Editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine, and an instructor at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve.

Batik is a "resist" process for making designs on fabric. The artist uses wax to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, leaving "blank" areas in the dyed fabric. Students will create a Batik wall hanging or scarf using traditional batik hand dipping methods. No experience is necessary. All materials are provided. Registration is limited, so sign up early!

As part of the Kelsey Kids Series, the timeless, tangled tale of ‘Rapunzel’ is coming to Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. The award-winning Kaleidoscope Theatre presents a magically fun musical adaptation of the famous fairytale Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Tickets for “Rapunzel” are $10 for children and seniors, and $12 for adults.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.KelseyTheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333.  Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible, with free parking available next to the theater.
