While the tale is set in 19th century California, the important influence of Latin and Spanish culture guarantees that its message remains relevant to today’s audiences.

The young superstar tenor Nicholas Phan will sing Franz Schubert's 1823 masterpiece of storytelling Die Schöne Müllerin accompanied by pianist Myra Huang.

A concert talk with the performers and David Lang, Artist-in-Residence, will follow the Friday evening performance. A reception will follow the Saturday evening performance in the Fuld Hall Common Room.

This concert is supported by a grant from the PNC Foundation. Tickets are required for the concert and are offered through an online registration system. As a member of the Institute community, you may request up to two tickets by visiting the following links. Please note that performances are not suitable for children under the age of eight.
