SPEAK UP FOR A CHILD! Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is currently seeking new volunteers! CASA for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who speak up in Family Court for the best interests of children that have been removed from their families due to abuse and/or neglect and placed in the foster care system. Our volunteers strive to ensure the physical, emotional, and educational well being of these children.

Rescuing the Revolution, Princeton Public Library

Dr. Robert Selig, an expert on Marshal Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, comte de Rochambeau, will be giving a presentation on Rochambeau and the French expeditionary force he led through Princeton in August 1781 to help the Continental Army capture Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown. Marching from Phillipsburg, NY, across New Jersey on separate routes, the allied forces united just north of Princeton, followed by the encampment of Rochambeau’s army of 5,000 men on the grounds of Morven on August 29-31, 1781. (There is a monument to this encampment on the grounds of Trinity Church). The following summer, Rochambeau and his army returned back through Princeton from Virginia, and received the resounding applause of the American people as they marched. This event is brought you by a partnership between the Morven Museum and Garden, Princeton Battlefield Society, and the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route-NJ Association (W3R-NJ) part of the designated National Historic Trail.

Actress Hedy Lamarr was one of Hollywood's top leading ladies in the 1940s. Behind the glamour and sex appeal, was a talented and inquisitive inventor who created a radio system that is now considered the basis of Bluetooth technology.
