All-Comer Cross Country 5K Race for Boys' Wellness, Princeton Academy

On Saturday, November 17, Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart will host its annual DASH @PASH 5K Race. The race will take place on Princeton Academy's cross country course which traverses its beautiful 50-acre campus. The event will be run by the Princeton Academy Athletic Office with the help of eighth-grade students and is open to the public. Director of Athletics Paul Clewell states, "We are excited to host this annual event to raise awareness about boys' wellness."

Early registration is $20, after October 17, is $25, and on the day of the race, registration is $30. Please visit princetonacademy.org/DASHatPASH5K to register. The race will be timed and t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 75 participants. Same-day registration opens at 8:00 a.m. with a target race start of 8:30 a.m.

Walking Tour of D&R Canal

The Delaware & Raritan Canal Watch will hold another in its series of free interpretive walking tours of the D&R Canal on Saturday, Nov. 17. The walk will be between Whitehead Road in Lawrence and Cadwalader Park, Trenton, with the option of a shorter distance.

The 4.5-mile walk features industrial portions of the canal south of Whitehead Road and a new path parallel to the section of the canal that is diverted into a culvert below the Trenton Freeway. Once linked up the canal again in Trenton, the route includes many historic sites and canal-related structures. The shorter walk will be 2.5 miles to the Trenton Battle Monument. Canal Watch member Pamela V’Combe will conduct the walk and provide commentary.

Meet 10 a.m. at the Ellarslie Mansion, the Trenton City Museum in Cadwalader Park. The park entrance is near 299 Parkside Ave. Carpools will be arranged to allow a one-way walk. For further information and weather-related updates, contact Ms. V’Combe at 609-635-2783 or pjvcombe@gmail.com.
