American Woodcock Restoration Project, Hopewell Boro Park

Volunteers needed! Volunteers will meet at the Gazebo and will be welcomed by the Sourland Conservancy's Stewardship Committee Chair, Roger Thorpe. Roger will explain the history and motivation of the American Woodcock Restoration project and how it has evolved over time. Volunteers will then hike into the park and move Christmas trees into the interior of the park to create natural deer exclosures. These deer exclosures protect native plants from deer herbivory and allow them to beneficial habitat for other native pollinators such as birds, moths, and butterflies.
