Birding Field Trip, Washington Crossing Audubon Society

Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society at 8 AM on Saturday, April 27 for a free birding trip led by Brad Merritt, John Maret, and Mary Leck Roebling Park, a Mercer County park adjacent to the Hamilton/Trenton marsh. We will follow the trails and see how the marsh and its wildlife adjust to the cold weather. Directions: Take South Broad St. to Sewell Ave. in Trenton, turn onto Sewell at traffic light; at road's end, turn left and continue downhill to parking lot. White City Amusement Park with Historian Jim Colello, Jr

Let’s go to the White City Amusement Park with historian Jim Colello, Jr, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. and 1 - 3 p.m. (afternoon tour filled). White City Mansion, home of Suzy and Turner Abbott, overlooks Spring Lake, Roebling Park. Location: 301 Harrison Ave. Hamilton, NJ 08610 In the early twentieth century the White City Amusement Park was enormously popular. Historian Jim Colello Jr., native of Hamilton, NJ, has written about this abandoned Park, dubbed “The Coney Island of New Jersey,” and will talk about its fascinating history and point out sites of the old park that can be viewed from the balcony of this historic home. Parking is available on Harrison Ave. or McClellan Ave., and also in parking lot at foot of Sewall Ave. Allow 10 minutes to walk back up hill to Sewell Ave., and note that the mansion cannot be reached via the concrete staircase from the park. Princeton University Eating Clubs Tour
