Bodegas Murua Wine Dinner, Eno Terra

Friday September 20, 2024
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Though wine is made throughout most of Spain, perhaps no region is more synonymous with Spanish wine than Rioja, the country’s oldest quality wine region. It is also its most iconic, with the name evoking nobility, history and culinary traditions. Initially, the winemaking was informed by both French and American influences; American oak barrels especially are a hallmark of the wines. Over the decades, new generations of winemakers have freshened up the styles and put their own stamp on Rioja. Murua is a smaller, established winery in Rioja Alavesa with an eye on innovation and the future of Spain’s premiere wine region. Join us Friday, September 20th as we welcome Loretta Fernandez Ferrer of Bodegas Murua to guide us through the wines of this special estate featuring a multi course wine-paired dinner.

From head wraps to "church hats," headwear symbolized freedom, commitment to spiritual life, and a love for fashion that enslaved and free women shared. The Head that Wears the Crown explores the past, present, and future of African American women's headwear. This special exhibit will feature portrait photography of community members of all ages modeling SSAAM's collection of church hats, which date from the 1930s to the 2000s.

Groundhog Day, The Musical @Kelsey Theatre

Friday September 20, 2024
8:00 PM

We couldn’t wait until February to bring you this adorable musical, inspired by the hilarious film starring Bill Murray. Groundhog Day features a book by original co-screenwriter Danny Rubin, and music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Tim Minchin (Matilda the Musical). It is February 2nd in Punxutawney, Pennsylvania and a storm is coming. Phil Connors, a big-city weatherman, couldn’t be more frustrated to be reporting on the small-town Groundhog Day Ceremony – until he finds himself reliving the same day over and over again. Stuck in an endless loop of arrogance and cynicism amongst the cheery townsfolk, Phil must learn to take advantage of his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances, break the cycle and transform his life. $30 PG13
