On February 17, 2025 The Women's College Club of the Princeton will meet 1 to 3 PM at Morven Museum Stockton Educational Center 55 Stockton, Princeton NJ. This month's talk is titled Raising Awareness of African American Artists, presented by Joyce Felsenfeld, a docent at the Princeton University Art Museum. The talk will feature artists from the 18th to the 21st century, including an artist who was once a slave. Black artists faced significant barriers to attain acceptance into art schools in the US until the 1960's when segregation was ruled unconstitutional. The artists and artworks tell an important part of black history. There will be a variety of artists, styles, and themes in the artwork that will be shown and discussed. Our speaker's knowledge of art and her passion for sharing it is a winning combination. Free and open to the public. For more information contact WCCPNJ.org
