West Windsor Community Farmers' Market

Nearly forty farms and vendors are represented with offerings including seasonal Jersey Fresh produce, mushrooms, sustainably caught seafood, poultry, pastured eggs, freshly milled oats, pickles, sauces, jams, fresh pasta, goats milk products, cheese, breads, baked goods, pastries, pastured meats, vegan savory and sweets, Lebanese salads, Eastern European favorites, Indian simmer sauces and prepared meals, alpaca fiber wear, vegan chocolates, pesticide-free flowers, as well as on-site food trucks with crepes, fresh pressed juices, hot and iced coffee and teas.

Held at the Vaughn Lot at the Princeton Junction Train Station, with plenty of free parking, this gathering space for folks who love good food is known for its wide assortment of offerings and welcoming atmosphere.

HCHS Genealogy Workshop

Join the Hunterdon County Historical Society at its Hiram E. Deats Library on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when professional genealogist Betty DeSapio will teach you how to find and interpret the vast resources available to help you discover your family genealogy. Participants will learn how to set goals, discover online and archival resources, how to understand core research sources (including land and tax records, probate records and military records), conduct oral histories and get the hands-on help needed to begin their genealogical journey.

All participants will take home a folder full of state and local genealogy information to help further their research. This workshop is geared toward the beginner to advanced beginner. Cost is $15 for HCHS HCHS members, $25 for non-members. It includes a break for lunch and participants are invited to bring a bagged lunch or visit a local restaurant. Butterfly House Opening, The Watershed Institute

Come join Watershed Educators Alison Novobilsky and Vicky Allen for the seasonal opening of the Kate Gorrie Butterfly House and first Butterfly House Tour of the Season. Learn about the plants grown in the butterfly house and the lifecycle of butterflies. Play the Monarch Migration Game and try to catch butterflies around the fields by the center with nets. The Kate Gorrie Butterfly House is handicap-accessible, free and open daily from dawn until dusk (mid-June through mid-September) except during a scheduled program or tour. Ages 2 and up. Adult attendance and preregistration is required for this free event.

Princeton Cemetery Tour

There will be guided walking tour of the Princeton Cemetery on Saturday, June 15, at 10:00AM. It will begin at the cemetery entrance at 29 Greenview Avenue. There is no charge and all are invited to attend. The tour will highlight many of the more interesting graves as well as point out some of the sections of the cemetery ranging from the original Old Graveyard and President’s Plot of Princeton University to the most recently added Pardee Memorial Garden that provides environmentally sensitive burial of ashes in biodegradable earthen urns. The cemetery has recently completed an extensive records preservation and digitization process including the addition of an interactive web-based map available to the public.

The graveyard is owned and operated by the Nassau Presbyterian Church. It is still an active graveyard and the inclusive, non-denominational character of the cemetery continues. Lot ownership and interment have never been restricted to church members or their families. For more information about the tour or the cemetery, call 609-924-1369. A Morning Chalk-full of Fun, Hopewell Public Library

Father’s Day Winery Weekend, Terhune Orchards

Visit the wine orchard for a celebration with Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery to celebrate dad. What better way to treat him than an afternoon of wine tasting with $2 off for dads this weekend. Winery Weekend Music Series, Terhune Orchards

Join family and friends for our winery weekend music series. Set in our wine orchard among 100 year old apple trees, it is the perfect way to relax, connect, and toast the weekend. Enjoy a glass of one of our award-winning wines, by the glass, in a tasting flight or a refreshing wine slush. Sit back and listen to live music from local artists each week. Styles range from Jazz and Blues to Folk and Rock. Music is from 2pm-5pm.

Light fare available. Bring the entire family to enjoy fresh air on the farm, stop in the farm store for fresh produce, baked goods and local gourmet items, and stroll on the farm. Barn Door Cafe is open on weekends for lunch fare, homemade treats and ice cream. Winery hours 12pm-5pm. No outside food or pets please. No reservations needed for less than 8 people. Groups over 8 require reservation.
