Tulpehaking Nature Center to Host Wildlife Lectures This Winter

HAMILTON -- Keep cozy at the Tulpehaking Nature Center this winter during this six-part series where visitors can learn more about the local wildlife of Mercer County. These programs will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 14, Jan. 5 and 18, and Feb. 2 and 8, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Lectures will explore bats, spiders, raptors and more as well as the common myths and misconceptions that surround some of these creatures. Other topics for the lectures include how to create backyard refuges for the wildlife in our area and where to find them. Wildlife experts from Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey and the Friends for the Abbott Marshlands will be on site to present the lectures and answer any questions.  

The Winter Lecture Series is a free program and appropriate for teens and adults. Registration is required through Community Pass. For more information on this program, or to set up an account to register, please call (609) 888-3218.

The Tulpehaking Nature Center is located at 157 Westcott Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08610. It is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The nature center provides programs and exhibits that encourage visitors to explore and discover the many cultural, historic and natural resources of the Abbott Marshlands. It is owned by the County of Mercer and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission.
