Caroline Burton: Way Finding, New Jersey State Museum

First day for new exhibit in the New Jersey Artists Series. In her process-driven canvases, Jersey City based Caroline Burton draws on architectural and agricultural forms, nature, and elements of chance for inspiration. Her often experimental painting practice includes the rejoining of torn canvas with thread, as well as the use of discarded afghan blankets and scarfs as matrices for printing directly on canvas. On view through March 31, 2024.

Claim to Fame Event, Historic Wicoff House Museum

Let's play Claim to Fame at the museum! Just bring yourself/or some friends. At the start of the game, everyone chooses a card which reveals what celebrity they are related to. We will play a series of games to uncover clues. There will also be a clue board with clues about all the celebrities that you can look at throughout the night to help decode the clues. At the end of the game, everyone will fill out a sheet to guess who each person is related to. The person with the most correct guesses receives the prize bag!
We'll meet at the Wicoff House Museum, inside the Municipal Complex at 641 Plainsboro Road. There's a small parking lot behind the museum and additional parking in the complex. Register here: meetup.com/plainsborosocial
