Creating Change, Lewis Center for the Arts

This two-day virtual gathering is built around reflecting, healing, and learning as we work toward a more equitable, just, and anti-racist arts and cultural sector. We welcome and encourage participation by all staff members of arts and cultural organizations, as well as trustees, independent artists, unaffiliated arts and culture administrators, students, and anyone else interested in being part of creating a more equitable arts and cultural field in New Jersey.

Featuring keynotes by playwright/actor Nikkole Salter and Vu Le, founder of nonprofit AF. Event is open to anyone interested in being part of creating a more equitable arts and cultural field in New Jersey. Tickets required; individual, student, and group tickets available. Presented by NJ Theatre Alliance and ArtPride NJ, cosponsored by the LCA.

Musical Performance and Presentation, A World Within Worlds: The Music of Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell

Anthony Russell, an award-winning singer and musician specializing in Yiddish song, has created remarkable music from very diverse influences—from Yiddish art song, to African American Spiritual, from Chassidic melodies, to folk songs from the African American South. Russell and moderator Dr. Josh Kun, an award-winning cultural historian, will navigate through these rich worlds of sound from which Anthony creates his inventive interpretations. Free and open to the public, the event is presented by the Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life at Rutgers University.
