Another simultaneous event is a return to Palmer Square, Princeton, for GSWS 2023 Pop-Up Art Sale. This year it will be held at 45 Hulfish Street, Princeton. Thirty-five member artists display up to 18 pieces each, resulting in a large assortment of original artwork in various media to satisfy anyone’s taste or style. This is an opportunity to browse and discover who the local painters are whose work you admire. View the displays, including florals on one wall and water scenes on another. There are figurative paintings, landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, closeups of animals, barns, boats, cars, scenes of Princeton and other landmarks to collect. If you enjoy the thrill of the hunt, it’s a fun event to bring the whole family. All artwork is for sale with GSWS coordinating sales.
The sale will run for three consecutive 4-day weekends beginning Thursday, November 16th. and will continue -- on a Thursday-to-Sunday schedule -- ending on December 3rd. (Closed Thanksgiving.) An all GSWS member-artist staff will be on hand to offer advice and help shoppers find what they are searching for. Shoppers may browse the rows of portfolio racks where unframed work is separated by artist’s name. Limited Art Sale hours are: Thursday, Friday: 10am – 8:30pm; Saturday: 10am – 6 pm; and Sunday, 12 – 5:00 pm. Check their website for upcoming events for the holidays; visit GSWS at https://www.gswcs.org then click on the Events tab and Art Sale.
As a way of giving back to the community, GSWS will donate 15% percent of the art sale proceeds to Mercer Street Friends’ Send Hunger Packing project. Mercer Street Friends is a local non-profit whose mission is to build alliances and provide integrated services for children, and their families. Their Send Hunger Packing program provides supplemental meals on the weekend for children K- sixth grade so that they are ready to learn during the school week.
