Princeton NJ Local Government Announcements

NJ Motor Vehicle Commission Hosts Mobile EventS

The NJ Motor Vehicle Commission will be hosting three events in Princeton to provide services to residents including drivers license renewal, non-driver identification cards, REAL IDs, and license plate services. Register by email with the Office of Senator Zwicker: SenZwicker@njleg.org, Attn: Pam Hersh. For individuals with no access to email, please call (732) 823-1684. All events are located at 1 Monument Drive (corner of Stockton/Route 206) in the Monument Hall parking area:


  • Tuesday, April 5, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • Friday, June 24, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • Monday, September 26, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.


The mobile units will provide the following services:


  • DRIVERS LICENSES: Drivers can renew their license, obtain a duplicate license, change their name or address on their license, add a boat endorsement, add a veteran designation, register to vote and/or make organ donation selections.


  • NON-DRIVER IDENTIFICATION CARDS: Get photo identification that can serve as a primary or secondary form of personal ID.


  • REGISTRATION: Drivers may renew registration or obtain a duplicate registration card.


  • REAL ID: Mobile units can provide REAL ID to a limited number of customers whose license or ID card are expiring within the next 6 months. Customers that have scheduled appointments for REAL IDs must arrive no later than noon, the day of appointment.


  • LICENSE PLATES: Drivers can surrender their license plates.


  • PLACARDS: Drivers may obtain a Persons with a Disability, Purple Heart, or Disabled Veteran placard.


  • EXAMINATION PERMITS: Apply for an examination permit to take a written (law/knowledge) test. (NOTE: The actual written test is not available in the Mobile Units)
