Princeton Affordable Housing Releases New Universal Application for Affordable Housing Rentals in Princeton

Princeton, NJ – Applying for affordable rentals in Princeton just got easier.  Princeton Affordable Housing has released a universal rental application for all of its affordable rental units as well as those managed through the Princeton Housing Authority.

“Having a single application and simplifying the process for applicants has been a goal for many years,” said Mayor Lempert. “I’m thrilled to see us make progress in easing the bureaucracy for residents who need affordable housing.”

Previously, an applicant would fill out multiple affordable rental applications – one for each property. Now that can be done with just one application. Once completed and submitted online, it will be emailed to each affordable housing office in which the tenant is interested.

The following properties are covered by the form: Elm Court, Harriet Bryant House, Griggs Farm, Princeton Community Village, Merwick Stanworth, Avalon Bay, and the Princeton Housing Authority Properties.

The application can be found and submitted online at, or

A universal affordable sales application is also now available. It can be completed online at  Hard copies of both the sales and rental applications are also available at the Princeton Affordable Housing office located at 1 Monument Drive.

“This online application is part of a larger effort by the municipality to better serve residents by making it easier to file forms and permit applications online,” said Lempert.

Currently, the following online submissions are available:

· Vital Records Requests (including birth, marriage, civil union, domestic partnership and death certificates)

· Food Service Applications (Farmers markets and temporary event applications)

· Open Flame Permit Applications

· Tent and Canopy Permit Applications

· Rental Housing Applications
