April 13 - Raw Milk Cheese Appreciation Day (11am - 3pm)

Cherry Grove Farm kicks off the grazing season every year on Raw Milk Cheese Appreciation Day!

May 5 - Mozzarella from Scratch (1pm - 3pm)

 

For years we’ve taught mozzarella stretching, but now we’re starting from scratch!

Learn the basics of using rennet to turn milk into cheese in a mozzarella-making demonstration. Then we’ll go through the tips to stretching a sweet, tender curd into your own fresh mozzarella balls. We’ll wrap up class with a cheese tasting and comparison between your farmstead fresh mozzarella and cave-aged Cherry Grove Farm cheeses. Depart with some fresh mozzarella and our signature class folder full of cheese making information and recipes to use at home.                                                                                                                                             Price: $70/person. May 18 – Foraging for Wild Edibles (11am – 1pm)

 

Learn about wild edibles, how to forage responsibly, AND how to make a delicious meal from the bounty all around us! Join us for a walk deep into Cherry Grove Farm to find wild edibles as they ‘spring’ from the ground, climb into the trees, and fall from the branch. After your adventure trek, you will taste “farm fresh” in a whole new way, learning surprising ways to use the bounty of nature. Working with a local chef, and some cheeses and meats from the farm, we'll create a wild repast together. You’ll go home with recipes and the know-how to dig up your own dinner! June 8 - Homemade Ricotta and Mozzarella Stretching (1pm - 3pm)

 

Hands on Experience with Home Cheese making: Ricotta & Mozzarella!

In this fun and informative double header class we show you how milk is transformed into curds and how curds become cheese. First, make your own ricotta using our grass-fed milk. Ricotta (“re-cooked” in Italian) is a sweet, delicate cheese used for both sweet and savory dishes. Our instructors will show you just how easy this cheese is to make in your own home.

Then experience the fun of making your own fresh mozzarella as you are guided through the steps to stretch curds into tender, sweet mozzarella. Learn the tips and tricks to avoiding tough cheese.

We’ll complete the class with a cheese tasting, comparing between these fresh cheeses to our cave-aged Cherry Grove Farm cheeses. You will leave with fresh cheeses and our signature class folder full of cheese making information and recipes to use at home.                             Price: $70/person.
