Twin Rivers Library Hosts Free U.S. Citizenship Test-prep Classes

EAST WINDSOR, NJ —The Twin Rivers Branch of the Mercer County Library System, 276 Abbington Drive in East Windsor, will host a free, 7-week program to prepare adults who are planning to take the test for U.S. citizenship. The class is appropriate for adults 18 years and older who have lawful and continuous permanent residency in the United States for a minimum of 5 years. They should also have been physically present in the United States for 30 months, with at least 3 months living in the same state (or district).

The classes will be conducted in English, and will provide instruction on all topics covered by the test for U.S. citizenship, including civics and American history questions. There will also be practice exercises on English vocabulary and reading. The actual test for citizenship will not be administered as part of the class. That test is only administered by US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The 7-week program will be held on Mondays: April 2, April 9, April 16, April 23, April 30, May 7, and May 14, 2018, and will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Registrants should plan to attend every session. Advance registration is required due to limits on class size. Registration will begin Monday, March 5.
