Sustainable Eating -- Colonial Style at Rockingham

Saturday November 2, 2019
1:30 PM

On Saturday, November 2 at 1:30 pm, Deborah Peterson, foodways historian, will bring to light just how dependent colonial Americans were on the seasons for their food. The presentation will also touch on the goods imported into the colonies (there were some, though mostly only for those few who could afford them). A hand-out will be supplied.

The talk will be presented in the barn at Rockingham State Historic Site, with time for questions and light refreshments to follow. Because seating is limited, it is best to call 609-683-7132 to guarantee a spot. A donation of $5 per person is suggested.

Rockingham is located at 84 Laurel Avenue/Kingston-Rocky Hill Rd. (Rte. 603) in Franklin Township, 1 mile north of Rte. 27 in Kingston and 1 mile south of Rte. 518 in Rocky Hill. For further information, please call 609-683-7132 or go to www.rockingham.net.
