Wheat & Sheep Day at Washington Crossing Historic Park
Explore life on a colonial-era farmstead at Washington Crossing Historic Park’s “Wheat & Sheep Day,” being held on Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park’s Thompson-Neely House & Farmstead. During this event, attendees will see sheep being shorn of their winter wool coats and be able to follow the process of washing and carding the wool and spinning it into yarn. Tours will also be given of the restored Thompson-Neeley Grist Mill. Shearings are held every hour and mill tours and held on the half hour. This is a “pay-what-you-wish” event (recommended fee is $7), but registration is required. Attendance is limited to 150 people. Register at: WashingtonCrossingPark.org/event/wheat-and-sheep-day.
