“Expert Eye” Jewelry Program, Updike Farmstead

Tuesday February 19, 2019
12:00 PM

The Historical Society of Princeton presents a third installment of its “Expert Eye” series on Tuesday, February 19 at noon. This series enlightens participants on topics relating to antiques and material culture. With Valentine’s Day just a few days earlier, the focus on February 19 will be jewelry. Rago’s Director of Jewelry, Katherine Van Dell, who also appears as an expert appraiser for the PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, will share why “Knowledge is a Collector’s Best Friend.”

Guests are invited to bring their own pieces (or photographs) for identification and valuation following the talk. Registration is free for HSP Members, and $5 for non-Members. Appointments are required for appraisals; please call Eve Mandel at (609) 921-6748 x102.

Open Archive: Drafting Princeton, Princeton Public Library

Tuesday February 19, 2019
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Many noted architects have left their mark on the Princeton landscape. Stop by the Princeton Public Library’s Discovery Center to examine architectural drawings and other materials that highlight the multitude of styles represented in our small community. HSP’s Curator of Collections and Research will be on hand to share information and answer any questions.

The Historical Society of Princeton’s Open Archive series allows visitors to interact with little-seen artifacts and documents from HSP’s vast collection. Featuring a different theme each time, these events present historical material with minimal interpretation and encourage visitors to make observations, ask questions, and be the historian themselves.
