Lucas Brown Quartet – Shades and Hues of the Blues, 1867 Sanctuary

Monday June 18, 2018
8:00 PM

Jazz organist Lucas Brown’s new quartet explores an expansive variety of tone colors and orchestrations afforded by its unique instrumental combination. Fusing the traditional configuration of organ, guitar and drums with the expressive sound of the vibraphone, this quartet explores repertoire with a focus on the array of subtle shades available to them. While the straight-ahead swinging Jazz tradition is their jumping-off point, the music also travels down a contemporary path, exciting and fresh.

Lucas Brown Quartet, 1867 Sanctuary, 101 Scotch Road, Ewing, 609-392-6409 8 p.m., $20.
