Annual Room Parent Funds (Classroom Activities)

Each fall the Toll Gate PTO disburses to each Head Room Parent funds in the form of a check, payable to the Head Room Parent, to be used at the discretion of the room parents and teacher, throughout the school year, to purchase supplies necessary to enhance classroom activities such as special “station days” (e.g. 3rd grade Prairie Day, Matter Day, etc.), plays, parties, and other special events.  Items purchased with these funds can include craft items, snacks, and costume materials, but are not limited to these items.  However, funds may only be used for classroom/school based activities, and may not be used to purchase personal items (e.g. end-of-year gift) for the teacher(s).

Any unused money is to be returned by the Head Room Parent to a Room Parent Coordinator, along with a ledger and receipts showing how the money was spent.  The funds will then be returned to the PTO general fund.

Funds are allocated on a per child basis. The per child contribution is determined annually by the PTO Executive Board prior to the start of the school year.

There is one Head Room Parent per regular classroom, as determined by the Room Parent Coordinator(s).
