Girls on the Run of Central NJ Benefits from 1st Constitution’s Jeans for a Cause Day

Hillsborough, NJ, July 3, 2019 - - Locally-based 1st Constitution Bank presented Girls on the Run of Central NJ with a $2,025 donation resulting from a bank wide "Jeans for a Cause". Every Friday employees may wear blue jeans to work for the day for a $5 donation to a chosen charity. 

"Our employees take great pride in doing our part to help the communities we serve," said Robert F. Mangano, President and Chief Executive Officer, Director of 1st Constitution Bancorp. "Each donation creates awareness of a local charity and we are happy to support the Girls on the Run Scholarship Fund."

The support of Girls on the Run of Central NJ is part of 1st Constitution's community initiative. 

"As a true, local community bank, 1st Constitution is making a difference for our Council through volunteerism and donations," said Donna York, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Central NJ.

Annually the GOTRCNJ program serves over 2,000 girls at nearly 100 sites in Camden, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Somerset counties.

About Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a social and emotional wellness program for 3rd-8th grade girls. Participants develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care, create positive connections with peers and adults and make a meaningful contribution to community and society. Each session is led by trained volunteer coaches that guide and mentor the girls. The ten-week program concludes with all participants completing a celebratory 5k event which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Girls on the Run of Central NJ serves over 2,000 girls in the counties of Camden, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Somerset.
