PHHH# 904.4 Date: October 20, 2002 Weather: Splendid Venue: Kingston Time: 1 hour Hare: The Geezer Hounds: The Weatherman, Wacko, Pyroman, Speed Bumps, TFM, Steve, Elias Rookies: Melissa Moyer THE KINGSTON HASH by Bruce Springsteen I set her in a Kingston briar, We fell in mud we knew it had to end. We took our skin and we ripped it apart, Now here we are back in Kingston again. So what's new. The Geezer sets a hash in Kingston that looks like this...... S S S S S S S S S S S s SSS SSS SSSSSSS TFM fails to negotiate one of the S-curves and is never seen again. Most figure he ran off to Rocky Hill 1.9 miles down the towpath and back again. A post-hash hunt is fruitless, but the Geezer reports his car was gone at about 5:30pm so it is surmised that he lives. All this to avoid swimming the canal like Elias and Steve. Pyroman fails to negotiate one of the S-curves and shortcuts the only decent shiggy in the hash and has to wait for 20 minutes while the rest of us enjoy the swamp, particularly Speed Bumps and Melissa who decide to test Geezer's warning. The Geezer did provide a new ploy. An "Eagle" trail and a "Chicken" trail. Basically what this means is that the trail is so obvious that the only way he can get anyone to go over the one boulder is to call it the "Eagle" trail. A few "eggheads" fell for this artifice; the other "eggyouranuses" tried but found it almost impossible NOT to shortcut.
