Wheezing with the effort of climbing down from his golf cart, Horace T. Bagley hitched 
up his plaid knickers and selected a 9 iron for his next shot.  How fine to spend a 
few amiable hours at the Bedens Brook Country Club pursuing a golf ball in the company 
of other like-minded CEOs, far away from the annoying hoi-poloi that clutter the roads 
with their despicable SUVs and impede the progress of his Mercedes.  They even complain 
about the price of gas he said with a snort, his remark addressed to nobody in 
particular.  Lining up the shot, Horace blinked at what he saw four members of the great 
unwashed masses had the audacity to be running across the verdant plains of his golf 
course, albeit in the rough margins of the course. Quickly snapping off a shot, Horace 
managed to clip Discomfort on the left temple, sending her yowling into the undergrowth 
like a wounded deer.  That’ll teach ‘em said Horace and went stumping off in search of 
the ricocheted ball.  
Thus sensitized to the feelings of the unspeakable golfers, the pack stayed in the safety 
of the bedens brook, enjoying the cool water but not the debris that invaded their shoes.  
Hey Yo Paully took the high road and headed west to the obvious end while the rest of the 
pack went cross-country but off-trail to the same destination.  
Why did I ever leave the cool climes of Ohio?  intoned NBL but was consoled by sufficient 
ingestion of Harp Lager.  Since Hand Solo can no longer afford gas he ran to the start 
and home after the hash.
