STEVENSON HALL HHH HASH # 82 Date: 2/16/86 Weather: Clouds, ca. 30 Set by: Wachspress Runners: Burns, MJ, Effross, Weinstein, Goldberg, Pascal, Kaufman, Jackson,Quintas; Rookies, S. Roy, Matt Tarlach,Dennis Moore "First to Cooler" Some debate--Pascal, Kaufman, Jackson,MJ seemed close Description, comments: A field, road and construction hash starting from FMC on Route 1, leading behind FMC through snow filled fields, across a road into woods. Quintas and Josh? caught up at that point, having become lost before the hash in attempting to find adequate sweats. Despite this advantage, perhaps because they were out of hash training they became lost again in the woods. There were extenuating circumstances, however, as Wachspress had either run out of red marking chalk (or stopped peeing blood) and had marked the woods with white lime on snow. Well, it was obvious to the older, craftier members of the pack that the trail had to emerge onto the road as indeed it did. More woods followed and the trail, such as it was, debouched into the vast monstrous construction area of Merrill, Lynch, Pearce, Benner, Scheisskopf and whoever. Much milling about by MJ, Pascal, Jackson finally led to the trail again as RAP and MJ emerged from a long underground tunnel directly onto marks. At this point Burns and Kaufman were heard far ahead and the rest of the pack was out of sight lost no one knows where. The second half of the pack finally found the construction just in time to be busted by security alerted by the first half. Sargeant X, doubtless a good friend of no smiles Ray, escorted them off the property which was better than they deserved. The trail led over roads through houses filled with terrified homeowners to Burns' house where the puzzeled Pascal, off the trail, but first to arrive at the front door, was unable to pry any beer or coke from the Burns kids who quite correctly demanded the password. Only MJ knew it, as it had been pinned to the wall of the Burns' tool shed. (those who say that Burns really gave it to a fellow geezer better watch out). Kaufman and MJ overran it but the geezer was so out of it at that point that he stopped to look inside the shed, allowing the even slower Joe Burns to catch up and show him the card. There's a lesson in there somewhere.
