Paully (Cameo scene only) SYNOPSIS: This is an epic about five hashers who must find 'the way' in the rugged environments of Rosedale Park. Bereft of two veterans early on, the five hashers embark on the ultimate quest towards hashing enlightenment armed only with a bag of Amish Friendship Bread Yeast. Trial and tribulation are associated with most quests, and this one is no different. But Director C&R delivers an entirely new twist on this concept: the hash crawl. Yes, about 60% of this story is about crawling.--Crawl in the mud, crawl through shiggy, crawl through deer carcass, crawl in deer dung, crawl through toxic waste--the list is endless. This is a movie experience that is destined to spawn an industry in elbow and knee pads, as well as chronic back pain. Some memorable performances worth mentioning include Discomfort's display of her best grimace yet, Tony's desperate attempt to cross, what ultimately turned out to be an ankle-deep river, and Nonsensei's discovery of her core competence: "Hey look guys, I don't have to bend, I can just walk under it!" The climax of this story is, no doubt, the double-cross arrow. Without giving too much away, suffice it to say, that a fair amount of time was spent by the fearless hashers looking for hidden marks in the direction of the arrow, only to discover that that the true path to enlightenment was hmm ... how would I describe it ... "misaligned?" All in all, 60% crouching and crawling, 20% running,, 20% flummoxed, this one deserves one thumb and two pinkies up! <<>> Interviewer: You're usually known for short-length debacles, what inspired the change in style and length? Director: This time I was drunk, I didn't plan it out, I got lost, and most importantly, this whole gig was involuntary. Interviewer: And what exactly inspired the theme -The Crouching and Hidden? It sounds awfully familiar. Director: Pshawwww ... Familiar? I'll say. I saw that Ang Lee movie and I sure didn't see any tigers or dragons. Jeez, I think Steve Martin was so intelligent for pointing that out at the Academy Awards. So, I wanted to really bring the out the crouching and hidden on mine. No esoteric artsy mumbo-jumbo with me. Anyway, nice talking to you but I only have a few more months to break glassware, so I must be off. Too-da loo.
