Junkyard Dogs


        Any vision of the post millennial apocalypse would surely include a
wasted planet strewn with all manner of human detritus - the remnants of a
society gone wrong and appropriately destroyed in the Great Cleansing of
1/1/2000. If those wackos camped out waiting for the end of the world had
been with us (and our Wacko), they would have thought they were right. The
end had come indeed, and somehow we were left alive to run through it. No
sign of life could be found amidst all the garbage, and no remnant of
civilization attended the three or so miles we carved out of the wasteland
that was/is Trenton's backyard. Strange objects were as common as one would
imagine at an Apres at the end-of-the-world. Not only was there a superb
collection of 19th and 20th century household junk, but street signs from
far-away cities had been transported in the final whirlwind, and human
bodies had been metalized then fragmented and dispersed. Juicy got a head
and Catch and Release found a most fetching mammalian object, complete with
unmistakable signs of the hideous mutilations that attended the Last Days
of Decadence of this putrefying civilization.
        Though Pyro will trumpet this set (as he always does) as not only
above reproach, but as a paradigm for the New World Order to follow, it
was, in truth, a near loop with lots and lots of track running. The
nearly-lost art of the false trail did appear, however, as a slightly
redeeming feature, and there was an ice-water field worthy of the hard
core.
        We awarded a Down-Down with cheeze-whiz garni for Pyro, and a
normal one for Catch and Release's sister.
