                        Descriptions, Polemics, and Lies:


        Neither Wacko's pitiful directions, nor the hounds' seriously
impaired driving skills could prevent the start of #746.4.  And for once
Wacko managed not to set a too-narrow loop - must have been Julie's
influence. His setting skills, honed by no fewer than 93 previous sets,
seem to have become rather seriously diminished lately. However, not all
was well - there was a "forest of marks" in the penultimate swamp
(essentially every tree within a 100 yard radius was marked), so this hash
was not without its major fuckups. But no matter, with 25+ hounds, and the
return of such veterans as the Throatwarbler, there could be no serious
difficulties. And there was a nice spot for the Apres- but then there was
the food: a choice of bloodoreos or cheese whiz dipped in Velveeta? Nazi
beer? Until he was defrocked and run out of town by the Citizens'
Committee, Dr. No was famous for providing such repasts. It's nice to see
them recapitulated, I guess. At least they won't have to worry about rodent
control for a while out there in Woodsville.
        Speaking of "out there" it's also nice to see the hype building for
Hardt Kore VIII. Of course, only the Geezer and Wacko have ever set a real
Hard Corpse hash. There have been others like RoJo and IUTHW's feeble
effort last year that achieved a certain difficulty by being long, and a
couple that had one or two decent moments. And then there have been
unmitigated, hall-of-shame disasters such as Rambo's Arrest-Fest, and 242's
"see if you can find a mark"  fiascoes. But I'll get ready - my plastic
socks are all set, my Kevlar vest is ironed and ready to go, and if I can
find anyone who will admit to being a next-of-kin, I'll notify him/her/it.
