STEVENSON HALL HHH HASH # 72 Date: 7/28/85 Weather: Hot and humid Set by: Burns Runners: MJ, MJ III, Baker, Jackson, Pascal "First to cooler" Geezer Description, comments: On a sweltering summer Sunday, a small but fast and experienced pack hashed through thorns and mud and the odiferous region surrounding the Princeton Conservation Center, Sewage Treatment Plant and Dump [ Ed. note- how appropriate for a Joe Burns Hash!] The day began with some condo running but soon retraced some of Hash #62's route through the construction sites and woods of Rocky Hill. Across River Road, the two Maits hit the stream like real amphibians, but rumors that age was taking its toll started when the geezer opted to return by bridge rather than hit the water again with Mait the younger. The pack plodded through the Masonic Lodge and pleaded their way into the conservation Center when Matt Baker's plaintive "but we'll have to walk home" seemed to touch the Dump Guardian's heart. Pascal and Jackson, running the wrong way on the real trail, complained about long false trails, while Baker and Jones circled the oozing Bono trap and headed into the woods for the finish. Mait the Younger passed his dad coming out of the jungle, but was lured off the trail by an empty van and was outkicked in a spectacular final dash by the hard charging Geezer; proving once again the basic HASH Truth that youth, strength and speed are no match for desire when close to the cooler.
