And then there were five*

*When in doubt, head upstream.*  So began yet another Pyro river slog.  
Up the river and under Rt. 1, for those few hounds who determined that 
it was better to commune with the sewer rats than to risk becoming road 
kill.  With the exception of Paully, who took off down the road almost 
immediately, the hounds managed to regroup on the other side and 
continue their quest for flour.  RoJo was the next to depart.  
Determining that her time would be better spent out of the asphalt 
jungle, she opted to run along the towpath where, like a stealth bomber, 
she burst upon a man and his rather, er, full figured companion in the 
midst of a less than private tryst.  Reports of a luminous full moon and 
a striptease were more than enough details for this scribe, but I 
digress.

Somewhere between the exit ramps of I-95, I-295, and the DMV, Tabletoes 
became the next casualty.  The remaining hounds thrashed about in the 
shiggy for a while behind the DMV before picking up the trail once 
again.  A little more mud, a few more thorns, and the pack found 
themselves at the mouth of yet another tunnel.  Seeing Booger up to his 
waist in slime, Wacko and Juicy opted for the high road.  Probably  a 
good move, considering that waist deep on most hashers is chin deep on 
Juicy.  The remaining 5 were greeted with cries of *on-on, really!* from 
the sadistic hare on the other side.  Another slog down the river caused 
flashbacks in One Stud, who brandished a branch overhead for the 
duration.  By now the lost (or would that be found?) 5 were happily 
enjoying some cold brews back at the cars, courtesy of Wacko.  As the 
sky darkened and the rain fell, the final 5 at long last made it back to 
the apres* or was it the start?  There was beer, there were chips, there 
were no down-downs.
